My friend and I throwing grenades into enemy trenches from a distance
The flag that we fight for every day we go to war. We stand firm to protect this flag
I am currently a soldier in World War One. My name is Felix G. Gane and I specialize in genading. Me and 8 other men run through the trenches of our enemies and throw live grenades into them. The reason I am in this war is because of a group of people known as "The Black Hand." When the Arch-Duke visited their land, they didn't like that very much. Actually they didn't like it at all. They hated it. The men got together to make a plan and killed the Arch-Duke and his wife. Now I'm here in the war, fighting for what I believe in and fighting for the justice of my country.
Austria Hungary made an alliance with Germany. As the war goes on we stay with them. Help them out when they need supplies and they help us out when we need supplies. We are a great alliance and will stick together until this war is over. Both Germany and our country use the many new weapons of war. We use machine guns, grenades, U-boats, rocket launchers, and many other things that they have made during this war. In this war, there are many trenches. This makes it hard to kill the enemy. Every man that has got up out of the trenches to go to the enemy, has been shot. Our orders are to get out of our trenches run to the enemies trenches and throw grenades in them. As I've said before, every other man to get up out of the trenches has been shot. They have heavy machine gunners ready to shoot anyone who comes up out of the trenches.
The purpose of this poster is to get the U.S. Army to enlist. They are showing that their enemies are evil and will destroy the things they care about. This is trying to get them angry and ready for war. To make them feel as though it is their duty to stand up for what they love and what they believe in. This poster uses emotional symbols, demonization, and name calling. The U.S. are really trying desperatley to get new people to enlist...
Something has happened. Something that's not very good. Russia has dropped out of the war and America has joined! They're upset because our alliance Germany torpedoed one of Britain's ships that had American passengers on it. If America is as strong and big as the people are saying. The rest of this war is going to be an absalute nightmare!
During the christmas break, our country was able to play soccer and be friends with our enemies. For one day, the people we were shooting one hour ago, we're now sharing chocolate with. We became best friends. No shooting. It was almost as if we signed a treaty and didn't need war anymore. The head quarters of our army did not agree with us speaking with our enemies because they felt that if we became friends with them and played soccer with them, or got close to them. We would have hard time shooting them. When it was war time, at first yes it was hard to shoot at them, until you begin to remember what they've done to you and how many of your men they've killed. Then it changes and you get a rage and have no problem killing the enemy. The people who have killed your closest friends. The next day, we began shooting at eachother again.
Our country was not very happy with the treaty. We were Germany's allies and we had to end the war. We were forced. We didn't like being forced or told to do something that we didn't agree with. We wanted to rebel, but we knew if we did, it would cause total chaos and our country was being limited of soldiers just like Germany was. We could only get our army so big and then they could shut us down. They continued to let us have a military to protect ourselves, but our military could only get so big.
